Recently, we were called by a homeowner in Bloomington who was concerned about cracks in their basement and driveway. After struggling for months when searching for a concrete leveling company in Bloomington, IL. They found us. During a free consultation with one of Helitech’s Certified Project Estimators, we performed a walk-through of the areas of concern and were able to complete a detailed evaluation that included:

Our foundation repair experts were recently at a home in Lincoln, IL where the team needed to replace a foundation wall that was severely damaged by several factors. In the below video, you can see in the before pictures they had a large deck and a front porch that was really allowing a lot of water to settle up against the foundation. Additionally, the home had some overgrown shrubbery and landscaping that, over the years, was holding a lot of water up against the house.
These things, in combination with floodwater getting up against the concrete blocks, caused too much damage where the team couldn’t repair it anymore. The damage was too far to be a quick fix. In a lot of cases, we are able to install helical wall anchors, carbon fiber crack repair, or other different products to be able to save a foundation wall, instead of going to the extreme of having to replace it.
However, rest assured that when we run into this situation, we are very comfortable doing this type of work. Replacing a foundation is usually our last resort if we can’t fix the wall itself with one of our great products.
Recently, we were at a home in Lake St. Louis where a customer had previous work completed by another Lake St. Louis foundation repair company that was supposed to take care of their foundation wall problems and waterproofing. Unfortunately, that just didn’t happen. So we went through the process correctly this time by taking care of the basement walls, making sure there was no water in the basement, and giving this St. Charles county customer the peace of mind that they really wanted in the first place.

The problem with using somebody that’s giving you a basement system that’s really not from our area is you can end up with problems like this customer ran into. This Lake St. Louis homeowner noticed a crack in their concrete wall in the basement. The concrete basement wall was cracked and opened all the way back up and even some of the plates on the anchors were loose. These wall anchors were continuing to move, even after they spent all this money with the previous company to fix that exact problem. It’s a frustrating problem for a homeowner and we happily come in and fix it, and fix it right the first time for our customers.
In the basement, the previous waterproofing system in the wall continued to move in. It actually started to let more and more water come into the basement, up to the point where that the homeowner even started having mud come into the basement from heavy rainfall. The customer had to go to great lengths to try and keep the basement from flooding and even putting sandbags down in the basement.
Mrs. Lundgren contacted Helitech Waterproofing and Structural Repair concerning water in her basement. Mrs. Lundgren felt confident in Helitech’s 30 years of experience in the waterproofing industry to heal her home.
Ms. Dorris contacted Helitech Waterproofing and Structural Repair concerning cracks within her basement walls and exterior brick, as well as gaps between the basement walls and ceiling. Ms. Dorris also noticed her fireplace had separated away from the ceiling above. The homeowner quickly learned the intense regional drought was causing more structural damage than what was visible.
A homeowner in Belleville, IL noticed the exterior of his house was showing signs of shifting and settlement. These signs included cracked brickwork and large vertical gaps in between his concrete foundation walls.
Initially, the homeowner contacted a company for repairs that did not prevent the house from continual shift and settlement. Unfortunately, the previous repair company would not return the homeowner’s phone calls for assistance with his home.
The homeowner then contacted Helitech, a trusted foundation repair company in St. Clair County. Helitech was able to assess the situation and properly diagnose the problem. The home was built on soil that was not suitable for withstanding the weight of the foundation. In this case, Helitech was able to address the use of piers that would reach soil stable enough to permanently hold the structure in order for the house to no longer fall outward. Helitech’s knowledge and use of their engineering capabilities were able to solve the homeowner’s ordeal.
After noticing signs of settlement throughout his home, a homeowner was searching for a basement wall repair company in Edwardsville, IL to help solve these issues. However, there were several underlying challenges that arose throughout the work.
After work began, it was found that an initial company tried to solve the existing settlement problem of the house. Concrete masses were poured in the crawlspace in an attempt to stabilize the foundation. Instead of fixing the foundation permanently, this caused an even larger problem by adding weight to the foundation and caused the home to settle further.
Helitech was able to go in and remove the concrete masses that added to the initial problem. In addition, Helitech replaced the affected area of the foundation by utilizing a temporary shoring system for support. After the new foundation was built, Helitech installed a Helical Pier Anchor System to prevent further settling caused by the initial poor soil problem.
A homeowner in Cape Girardeau called Helitech because of a major water problem, as the original sump pump drainage system was not effectively keeping water out of his house. Had the homeowner followed these tips for hiring a contractor, he may have not experienced these issues.
After a contractor removed the existing drywall, Helitech found significant structural issues that created horizontal and vertical cracks in the foundation that allowed water to pour in. In order to properly keep his home dry, these structural issues needed to be addressed.
In addition to installing the Hydraway 2000 Drainage System to solve the home’s water problems, Helitech corrected the structural damage by installing wall anchors for horizontal wall support and resistance piers for vertical stabilization.
Mr. Cunningham was searching for a foundation repair company near Ellisville, MO to review the settlement on the rear foundation wall of his home. Six months prior to Mr. Cunningham’s call, he hired a different foundation repair contractor to install piers on the rear foundation wall and the center beam of his house, as well as wall anchors on the front foundation wall. The hasty work of the other company led to many obstacles for our technician but we were able to solve the foundation issues for this customer in West County.
Due to excessive settlement as a result soft soils and age of the structure, the entire existing foundation of a farm home required rebuilding. The house was had sentimental value to the owner as it was built and passed down from his grandfather. The first story of the house had already been completely updated and restored by the homeowner, but they still needed to hire a trusted foundation repair company in Columbia, IL. The entire project included excavation, temporary shoring, replacing all four concrete basement walls, waterproofing system installation, beam installation with new footing pads, and pouring and finishing new concrete flooring.
A Columbia, MO homeowner first noticed water coming into his basement and called us for a free inspection. After the initial inspection and estimate, we determined the surrounding soil was causing excessive settlement, shifting, and cracking of the foundation. The cracks were allowing water through and damaging the interior of his new farm home. The entire project included excavation, replacing all four concrete basement walls, waterproofing system installation, beam installation, and pouring and finishing new concrete flooring.
A flooring company was working in the home when they discovered severe water issues and decided a waterproofing company was needed for repair work. The basement was finished, which blocked access to fully investigate the issue, it was determined there were serious water problems as well as potential structural issues.
In order to fully diagnose the problem, the homeowner needed to remove the basement framing and drywall to expose the foundation. Once the foundation was exposed, there were severe structural cracks throughout the whole foundation from hydrostatic pressure build-up.
The solution was to install a full waterproofing system, alongside crack injections and structural repair.
This home in Kirkwood, MO had both structural issues with the foundation and water intrusion through cracks and basement floor. The cracks were a result of lateral movement (bowing) in three of the four foundation walls, with the front and rear walls being significant. The front wall had leaned in over three and a half inches, which was damaging the ductwork in the basement. The rear wall had not only significant cracking but also was bowing in the middle, while the left side wall was leaning in two and a half inches.
Ralph and Marilyn Krausz had serious concerns about their basement foundation wall. They had a finished basement with carpeted floors and paneled walls.
Mr. M. contacted us due to constant leaking and water seeping into his basement. He and his wife loved their 100-year old home and wanted to preserve it in order to continue living in it for the rest of their lives. A major concern and setback, however was having a dry area that they could utilize as storage space
Helitech was called to a home in St. Louis. A 10’ section of the stone foundation had collapsed due to years of plumbing issues. The homeowner had installed temporary wood supports to keep the remaining 20’ section of the wall from collapsing as well.
A client’s basement was of block construction and she was having problems with seepage where the wall and floor met. Also, her walls were showing signs of discoloration and staining from moisture in the blocks themselves.
A new Squash court addition was being added to this residence. The lower elevation of the squash court was approximately 15 ft. below the existing footing elevation of the residence.
An existing nursing home has five wings off of main branch office making a star shape in which two wings were originally constructed on fill dirt. The nursing home has many finished rooms along each wing to house residents within the structure. Each room consists of a lookout window and finished drywall along outside perimeter wall.
This commercial client had recently renovated a library and converted it into the new City Hall. In doing this, it was discovered that the basement was wet and leaked after most rains. The client searched for a Quad Cities basement waterproofing contractor and then contacted Helitech. Knowing our knowledge of this type of work and that we could provide the client with options to solve the issues, this client in Bettendorf, Iowa knew they could count on Helitech.
This customer was searching for an exterior drainage installation company in Effingham, IL that could solve their yard drainage problem. After heavy rains, a ditch in the rear of the house was not able to handle with the amount of runoff from adjoining neighboring yards and the adjacent field above.
A client contacted Helitech with a basement wall problem at his home in Decatur, IL. The client explained he had an extreme foundation problem on his north wall. Upon inspection, it was noticed that the basement wall was leaning in 3” from the top and was binding his gas line. Bowing wall solutions can become costly if the wrong contractor is hired.
A residential project requiring helical piers to be installed to stop settling of garage portion of a house. Helitech installed (4) A.B. Chance Helical Piers along the exterior of the perimeter wall of the garage. The garage is attached to the house and runs perpendicular in an “L” shape.
As the garage had settled, it also pulled the brick face off the frame of the house creating a bowing effect near the entry doorway, along with cracking in the brickwork.
Mr. and Mrs. Hunt of Scott City, Missouri, needed their garage lifted and stabilized. After searching for a concrete leveling contractor in Southern Missouri, they came across Helitech for their sinking concrete.
This customer had a poured concrete covered patio that wrapped around the entire house. At each beam post location, the customer had poured concrete piers at the time of original construction in Arnold, MO.
A sunroom addition on house had a failing footing. The customer had problems with failing footing back in 2000 and had a contractor come in to excavate the foundation around the sunroom.
Mr. Murray, the owner of a single-story frame house in Oakville, Missouri, had a garage where piers were installed twice prior to 2006 within 3 years of each other.
On February 8, 2010, HBD Contracting contacted Helitech for an estimate at a retail establishment in Shiloh, Illinois. The floor on the inside of the store was settling and required a solution to stop the settling and cracking.
The home was built in the 1920’s. The residence is two stories with a wood frame construction. The basement foundation was constructed mostly of unformed concrete and brick, with the floor being dirt and gravel. Extensive remodeling had been ongoing in the upper levels of this residence throughout Mr. Knight’s tenure.
A homeowner in Springfield, IL searched high and low for a professional concrete leveling contractor. He then contacted Helitech because of water in his basement. As I homeowner having water in your home is frustrating! In my case, my kitchen is actually in the basement, so when I got water, it affected my living space and where I have dinner with my family. In 2002, Helitech installed the Hydraway Drainage System and a sump pump into my basement. I’m positively impressed at how well this Hydraway system has performed in the past 16 years. Not a drop of water on any floor, anywhere. The sump pump worked hard for all of those 16 years and finally needed to be replaced. Also impressive is that Helitech uses the same American company for their powerful home sump pumps. My phone call for service in April 2018 was met with a friendly voice, the exact cost for sump pump repair/replacement and I was given an immediate appointment. Technician (Mike) arrived spot on time, had his shoe booties on, got straight to work, was super friendly/professional, explained and demonstrated the new pump, asked if I had questions, cleaned up, and before he left, he told me call Helitech for anything, big or small in the future. I forgot to mention what a great job Brad and his crew did! Before they started any work, Brad went over everything that they were going to do and how they were going to do it which I really appreciated because then I knew we were all on the same page. They put up plastic during the jackhammering and suggested I turn off the A/C (I did have all the registers closed) so there was minimum dust that got up to the main level. They completed all the jackhammering by the afternoon of the first day, Tuesday. Throughout all three days (I couldn’t believe they completed the job in 3 days!) they were very professional and I sensed they took pride in what they were doing. I was so pleased, too, that they seeded and laid straw down where they dug and placed the drainage line from the sump pump. “Your craftsman, Justin Roberts, appeared on time this morning and repaired our foundation crack. He was neat and clean with his work and explained in detail the process and stages of the work—both before and after the job. It was also necessary for him to clear some framing off the wall on the top side in order to get to the entirety of the interior crack. So that was extra work, which he executed without complaint or extra charges. Justin also recommended additional preventative work around our foundation and the front landscape to better evacuate water during heavy rainfall.

We HAD a water leak in the foundation where the original house connected to an addition. I contacted 3 companies to come out and tell me what the problem was and how to fix it. 2 of the companies wanted to put in sump pump systems at a cost of over $5000, and they would only guarantee the fix for 5 years I believe. Helitech is fantastic. The garage floor and a few other concrete areas at our house had sunk. We were selling our home and had to make repairs as a contingency of the sale. We received bids from 5 different companies and ultimately selected Helitech. Helitech was confident they could lift the garage floor (others were not). Their price was competitive. They have an outstanding reputation. They responded quickly to our bid request and any other email/calls I made (many others I had to follow up with multiple times just to get a bid!). Helitech was also very flexible and accommodating with scheduling. It was the busy season and they had a multiple week wait that extended beyond the closing date of the sale of our house. 17 years ago Helitech originally installed helical screw anchors on my wall that has a 30-foot horizontal crack. My wall recently moved very slightly so I called Helitech to come back out to inspect the wall. They lived up to their warranty by adjusting the anchors and adding carbon fiber material to my wall at no extra cost. I also decided to pay for epoxy injection for the crack in order to stop the leaks that occurred when it rained. The work was performed in December right before the recent storms that caused record flooding in St. Louis. I was amazed that my basement was completely dry for the first time since I have owned the home even with the massive amounts of rain. I was impressed with their warranty service and would definitely recommend epoxy injection for leaks.

Greg was very helpful and knowledgeable about the systems. He explained what was needed and how it would prevent further structural damage to the basement wall. He went out of his way to speak to the city workers who were digging to put new sidewalks in the neighborhood and my sump pump discharge was directly under where the new sidewalk was to go. This helped me to not have to dig a trench myself to remove the pipe.

Our experiences with Helitech have been very positive, especially on the heels of some bad contractor experiences! Mark Keleher was such an awesome front person to work with at the QCCA Expo Home Show! He has a wealth of knowledge under his belt and really knows how to work with people! He came to our house and took pictures and was very good about giving an accurate estimate while explaining all of the details of the project. Mark called a few times to check in on us before Charlie and his crew came out and worked very professionally. I had originally taken the time off to watch the progress and to make certain things were on the up and up. As I homeowner having water in your home is frustrating! In my case, my kitchen is actually in the basement, so when I got water, it affected my living space and where I have dinner with my family. I asked around my work to see who people would recommend. Helitech was mentioned 3 times, so I thought, “I’ll give them a call”, this became the best decision I could have made!
After making an apt with the friendly receptionist, I was introduced to Mark. He came to the house and explained everything to me. He was so nice and knowledgeable that all my worries were instantly put at ease. When he quoted me for the work that needed to be done, I about cried as to how reasonable the cost would be! I thanked him and he told me I would be getting a call as to when the job would start.

As a woman, I tend to be intimidated by these things, however, Nick treated me with total respect and explained to me exactly what they would need to do. The crew worked hard to dig and excavate around my foundation. They were skilled and diligent both days. They let me know when there was an issue. I got a chance to view the final product before the dirt was replaced. It was BEAUTIFUL! I have complete confidence that water will no longer be ruining my dinner with my family!
Mark and Nick assured me that in the spring Helitech will return to regrade the dirt as well as seed and straw the area.

We had a very good experience with Brian Cox from Helitech. We wanted to see if we had foundation issues that needed very expensive repairs. Another company had given us a bid that would have cost thousands and torn up our property for months. As it turns out this work was totally unnecessary. Brian conducted a thorough analysis of our home that was significantly different from the previous company. He also provided us with a referral to an independent structural engineer who confirmed Brian’s evaluation, thus saving us thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. I’m writing this review entirely based on my introduction to the company with Brian Cox and his home visit to perform a quote/sales call. I had two other companies scheduled to come out and do quotes later that week, but I was so impressed with his transparency, thoroughness, and willingness to listen that I was completely sold and canceled their appts. This is how a sales call is supposed to go, sometimes people come out and try to interrupt, rush and slap down a piece of paper and get out. Brian had the emotional intelligence to work w/ me on my level and that makes for an incredible customer experience. He should really be getting paid the big bucks and training other people on the team – I hope that’s the case. Thanks, Brian!

The sales rep (Jon Courtney) was very helpful! To start, we had a scary old foundation that was leaking and cracking on 2 sides. He took time to walk through all options and the pros and cons of the options. The was zero pressure to commit to a costly repair. He took the time to help us understand the structural concerns as we had no clue. We worked through the concerns which put us in the best position to stabilize our foundation walls and provide a lifetime guarantee of the structure. We also were provided a solution that would provide peace of mind for when we choose to sell our home. The lifetime warranty is transferable to the next owner which provides the potential buyer peace of mind as well. The solution we bought was not the most expensive solution, it was the best solution. We can’t thank Jon enough for the service and support throughout the entire process. We would recommend Helitech and Jon to anyone that has a need for foundation or waterproofing concerns. Absolutely thrilled that I decided to go with Helitech for my home’s foundation needs. My biggest mistake was not calling them first. Jon Courtney takes time to listen, assesses your situation, and creates a plan for your needs that leaves you with confidence. A massive burden was relieved from my shoulders after my meeting with Jon. Rest assured that Jon is not a salesman. He will not try to sell you on time and material that is not needed for your waterproofing & foundation repair. Jon’s priority is addressing your situation appropriately that will leave you with confidence that your home or business is in good hands. Prior to reaching out to Helitech, I sought out another company that quoted me over 30k for repairs. An astronomical sum that I was unable to mentally justify. Jon put my issue into perspective and quoted me a more than fair price for repair. I immediately cut a check. I could not be happier.
