Stone Foundation Wall Begins to Erode in St. Louis City

A client contacted Helitech after a St. Louis City Building Inspector referred her. An abandoned building next door to her house had fallen on the east wall of her house and tore the gutters off. Without the gutters being replaced, subsequent rains caused a section of the soil under the stone foundation wall to erode.

Helitech began by installing a shoring system to support the soil. The crew then built a steel-framed cage adjacent to the wall with a 4 foot wide and 2-foot thick footing. Helitech sprayed concrete onto the steel cage using a method called Shotcrete. The crew then hand troweled the Shotcrete wall to a smooth finish.

Greg took the time to go over my unique situation and thankfully gave me the good news that my foundation was solid but the additions that were added to the home were off. He also was generous enough to give me pointers on how to fix the issues with my flooring in my kitchen to get them level. As a first time homebuyer it really was a relief that it wasn’t something much worse. I thank Greg for his wealth of knowledge and expertise. Highly recommended!
